Comtech EFData SDM-6000 Satellite Modem reminds me of a trip to a historical site, where look around in awe at the way people used to do things.
The Comtech EFData SDM-6000 Satellite Modem is the same trip back in history. It is a 2RU box with slide out cards for modulator and demodulator. In case you think that you will never have to open the front door, think again, because that’s where the on/off switch is located.
Even though I’m poking fun at it, it works very well. This is a 70 MHz, 2Mb, QPSK 1/2, D+I,IDR, IBS,AUPC,Async and G703 modem, and in spite of its age it is very capable of running a good size SCPC link.
